We are excited to announce a transformative merger between ERC Australia and Carbonhalo, forging a powerful alliance to take business climate action programs into a new era: characterised by accessibility, participation and collaboration.

This merger combines our strengths and expertise to disrupt an emissions reporting market that to date, has been too complex and expensive for most businesses.

Breaking Through Market Complexity

ERC Australia and Carbonhalo have both been built on a foundation of making things easier. This came from the loud calls from corporates, association leaders and SMEs about the difficulties they were facing in understanding what to do with climate change.

In the past 12 months, ERC Australia has established seven industry association partnerships, enabling hundreds of industry business members to now embark on a climate program, which was previously inaccessible. Our partnerships include those in tourism, caravaning, retail and wine.

This has been possible by the investment in scalable technology, and a focus on the user experience and needs. ERC’s platform enables businesses to create emission footprints (matched to their business needs), action plans, and share data with ease.

Carbonhalo has been supporting corporates and the mid-tier sector with emissions reporting and action planning, particularly those with limited resources and internal knowledge, yet a desire for personalised guidance during their journey. Carbonhalo has clients Australia wide, in all sectors, and is rapidly increasing its market reach.

Carbonhalo was a venture developed by the founders of Siecap, which is a leading supply chain consultancy, supporting some of Australia’s largest businesses. The combination of supply chain expertise and change management has been a welcomed addition to the emissions reporting arena.

The timing is right

With new mandatory climate reporting legislation now locked in, we are seeing a rapid increase in the need for climate reporting participation and collaboration. The skills to effect this change will not be borne in carbon accounting alone. Rather through the combination of scalable technology, supply chain expertise, change and project management – which are the foundations of the newly merged entity.

A New Paradigm

This merger represents a pivotal shift in the emissions reduction landscape. Our goal is to make emissions reduction accessible and straightforward for businesses of all sizes, driving meaningful change and fostering a sustainable future.

A new name

Carbonhalo will be our new name moving forward, reflecting our unwavering commitment to helping businesses address climate action with simplicity. Our mantra is "Better Business. Better Future."— representing the positive change businesses can create when they commit to reducing emissions and embracing sustainable practices.

New programs

We now have four program streams on offer, all of which are systemised and accessible through our technology platform:

  • Business climate action program (for SMEs)
  • Business climate action program advanced (for corporates and compliance)
  • Supplier climate action program (for scope 3 supplier engagement and data share)
  • Industry climate action program (for industry associations)

New features

With the merger, comes a raft of new features, including enhanced action insights, target setting and a whole raft of soon-to-be-released upgrades.

Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being a valued part of our journey. Here’s to a better business landscape and a brighter, more sustainable future!
